There is something spectacularly awful about an “anti-SJ” blog saying that it’s an unconscionable travesty when “everyday people” are told to kill themselves.
You know, normal people.
Unlike all the people who blog while Black and/or trans* who get told to kill themselves or hounded and triggered or sent graphic death and rape threats, we must assume that everyday people have done nothing to deserve this.
The everyday people are precious, and their feelings are both so valuable and so vulnerable that we must mobilize to protect them against the slightest hint of negativity! This mobilization, of course, is absolutely nothing like the SJ brigade siccing the dogs on someone. Nothing like it at all.
Also, the fact that “it’s just the internet lol”… a fact that is crucial in the dismissal of things all things SJ… doesn’t matter anymore when everyday people are threatened. Why? Because everyday people have real, actual lives. Non-everyday people are just names on a screen, they exist only for the amusement and education of everyday people.
