Things That Aren’t The Onion But Are Always Satire Even When They Look Like News Or A Press Release Or Something

  • The Free Wood Post
  • Christwire
  • Landover Baptist Church and “America’s Favorite Christian” Betty Bowers
  • The Borowitz Report

I know that there’s no upper limit on how outrageous the things people will actually say/believe can get. In the past 24 hours, I’ve probably seen at least five things on my dash from real life that seem like eerie echoes of Onion articles or Weekend Update sketches. Compare “George W. Bush Chuckles To Himself Upon Realizing He Was President Of The United States For Almost A Decade” to the interview excerpt that’s been going around, for example.

But even when the news is ridiculous, this doesn’t mean that everything that’s ridiculous is news.
