IMO, the twist they brought to Khan was a bit interesting, and really served to empathize that they should have cast a man of colour in the role. And what fucking sense does it make to hide the damn ship underwater? Of course they’ll see the thing!
I forgive the ship being in the water, because the whole thing in the context...

As many of you know, our friend Rosa Sparks is having a real shit time of it lately. The most recent in a long string of personal upheavals is that the house where she and her daughter live was just robbed, and many of their personal belongings were taken. Rosa is about to start her dream job, and the organization is giving her the opportunity to work from home so she can be flexible...

Sidenote on that post about boycotts I reblogged: I love the phrase “hocus pocus logic” and will be using it in the future. It’s so perfect, way better than abusing/appropriating “voodoo” to disparage this kind of thing, especially since etymologically the phrase “hocus pocus” may come from a mangled understanding of Latin mass (“hoc est”...

its the notion of boycotts
you wanna know why the bus boycotts of the civil rights movement were so successful?
because an alternative black run transportation system was created for those who couldn’t walk to work or whatever they had to go
they didn’t just tell people “oh the bus enforces racist policies so don’t take it...

I want to say, I get that it sucks that things cost money, and I get that a lot of people don’t have any disposable income.
I still thing it’s wrong. But this is really all I have to say about it. I don’t think it changes anyone’s mind…

pyraxis asked: So Yahoo has purchased Tumblr. Thing I'm afraid of is: how likely is that "SJ" spaces (or places where oppressed and marginalized people can freely discuss their experiences anyway) will get taken down (especially from unthinking complaints of "bigotry" by others)?? I don't know Yahoo's record, but I've heard some things about its past dealings that...

Support a Sex Worker and Rape Survivor’s Legal Battle - please reblog and spread far and wide!
I’m Ruby - a sex worker of 7 years from Melbourne. I’ve been involved with Vixen as well as organising the inaugural Festival of Sex Work.
About 3 years ago I was raped by a serial ugly mug. Due to his history I decided to report it to the police. The committal hearing happened in...
I so need to catch up on Elementary. At the beginning of the show, I said I really hoped that the woman he left London over would be Moriarty, and apparently they’ve done that? The idea of combining her with Irene Adler is… interesting… something that could be really good or really bad, but it could strengthen the character since Moriarty’s presence in canon is so sketchy,...

And apparently this makes this version of Irene Adler better than Sherlock’s Irene Adler because it makes her more idependent.
Still. No.

Technology is amazing.
It means that we don’t all have to be subsistence farmers. And that we can live in places with deadly cold climates. And that we have safe water. And that we can go places quickly that used to take days of walking. And that we can communicate with people on the other side of the world.
These are all good things. And they’re all things...

I always just black widow benny and kill him in his sleep. Seriously. Every time.
I usually try to find inventive ways to kill him, but like I said, the game makes it so hard to actually rescue him that it ticked me off. Even if you get him out of Caesar’s tent he usually just dies...

One of these days I might play Fallout: New Vegas and not kill Caesar the first time I go to camp (or upon coming back immediately with Boone), but I’d pretty much have to come up with a specific character in advance to roleplay as in order to side with the Legion at all. I can play a villain, but it’s not something I’ll do when I’m just going with the flow.
This time I...

The first page of google results says rumors, and that there is some event planned for Monday. Which for all I know, and history has shown, could just be playing coy to drum up other offers. Or, the deal could already be done, yes. In which case, lamenting is kind of futile.

I really hate to have to tag pictures that include bare breasts as NSFW especially when the picture is so clearly not porn, but as I lack the time and resources to go around to the schools and workplaces of everyone who might be following me and fight the consequences of anyone who gets “caught” with them on their dashes, I try to do so anyway.
